CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR – Immediate Opening – Pittsburgh
Collective Efforts is currently seeking a full-time field technician/inspector with at least 2 years of experience. The position includes medical benefits, paid vacation, and retirement savings options.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine duties related to construction inspections, manhole inspections, data collection, and surveying (GPS); inspections could be related to water and sewage systems or highway and transportation projects. Take measurements, take photographs, conduct calculations, prepare calculation sheets, and prepare daily inspection reports using a tablet;
- Enter confined-space areas including manholes;
- Work outdoors and drive in all weather conditions;
- Work may include overtime;
- Conduct other project-related work.
Required Education and Skills
- High school graduate or higher degree
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to interact with supervisors, contractors, residents and clients
- Ability to read and understand construction design drawings/blueprints
- Ability to operate field instrumentation including GPS units and computer tablets
- Ability to prepare calculation sheet drawings to scale
- Knowledge of working with stationing
- Good physical condition; ability to climb steps, bend and conduct work activities under various physical and environmental conditions
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to get to project sites
- NICET or similar certification a ‘plus’
- GIS experience a ‘plus’
- Confined-space Entry Training and Experience Preferred

Civil/Environmental Engineer – Immediate Opening – Pittsburgh
An engineer (PE preferred) with at least 10 years’ experience in the design of municipal infrastructure projects.
Should have the:
- Ability to prepare technical and cost proposals.
- Ability to design basic municipal infrastructure projects such as:
- Site development plans
- Earthwork and contouring
- Sanitary sewers
- Stormwater systems
- Drainage plans
- Streets, culverts, and small bridges
- Water treatment and delivery systems
- Experience in managing project schedules, budgets, and scope of work.
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere and mentor newer staff.
- Ability to use CADD or other design software.
- Ability to provide QA/QC on project deliverables.

Proposal Preparation / Business Administration – Full-Time, Immediate Opening – Pittsburgh
Full Time Position — Proposal Preparation/Business Administration
This is a full-time position to lead proposal preparation responsibilities and to serve as an assistant to our business manager. The workload will shift to accommodate demands between preparing proposals and accounting.
- Proposal Preparation
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other electronic delivery methods.
- Ability to maintain tracking spreadsheets.
- Ability to work under multiple quick turnaround deadlines.
- Detail oriented and organized to properly maintain proposal records.
- Must have strong writing and editing skills.
- Business Administration
- Assist the Business Manager with all phases of basic business accounting, including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
- Experience with QuickBooks.
- Experience with data input from employee timesheets and expense reports.
- Ability to prepare invoices and other financial reports.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Requires Skills and Education
- 2-year college or university degree or relevant experience preferred, 2-year technical degree or experience accepted.
- Experience working with financial and personnel records.
- Proficient in report preparation.
- Able to manage time and responsibilities and work under deadlines.
- Good organizational skills are essential.
