Senior Civil / Environmental Engineer

Job Summary:

Grow your career with our growing business.  We are seeking an senior level Civil/Environmental Engineer with 10+ years of experience to join our team!  You will get the opportunity to manage projects in the water resources and transportation fields supporting some of the region’s largest infrastructure projects.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare technical and cost proposals
  • Design basic municipal infrastructure projects such as
    • Site development plans
    • Earthwork and contouring
    • Sanitary sewers
    • Stormwater systems
    • Drainage Plans
  • Prepare permit applications
  • Prepare design packages and assist with preparing construction bid documents, reviewing submittals, and preparing cost estimates
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and scope of work in a team atmosphere and mentor junior staff
  • Provide QA/QC on project deliverables 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or higher in Civil or Environmental Engineering desired
  • Must hold current state license or be willing to obtain
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively and have a positive attitude
  • Attention to details, time management, and organization
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • AutoCAD and/or MicroStation competency
  • Experience with site grading, site design and associated permitting
  • HEC-RAS, HydroCAD or other water resource-related programs experience 
  • Fluent with Microsoft, Word, and Excel

This assignment is based in our West View, PA office and we operate on a hybrid office policy.

Entry Level Civil / Environmental Engineer

Job Summary:

Grow your career with our growing business.  We are seeking an entry level Civil/Environmental Engineer with up to five years of experience to join our team!  You will get the opportunity to work in the water resources and transportation fields supporting some of the region’s largest infrastructure projects.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for water and wastewater systems, municipal water, sewer, stormwater, highway, bridge, roadway, and airport projects
  • Field and office assignments 
  • Conduct environmental sampling and reporting
  • Prepare permit applications for PADEP, Army Corps, PennDOT, and City of Pittsburgh
  • Technical writing
  • Conduct construction inspections

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or higher in Civil or Environmental Engineering desired
  • Preferred E.I.T. or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively and have a positive attitude
  • Attention to details, time management, and organization
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to operate field instrumentation including water quality equipment and GPS
  • AutoCAD and/or MicroStation competency
  • Experience with site grading, site design and associated permitting
  • HEC-RAS, HydroCAD or other water resource-related programs experience 
  • GIS experience a plus
  • Fluent with Microsoft, Word, and Excel

Construction Inspector

Job Summary:

Grow your career with our growing business.  We are seeking a full-time construction inspector to join our team!   

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine duties related to construction inspections related to water and sewage systems and highway/transportation projects. Document daily construction progress by taking measurements, photographs, quantity calculations, prepare calculation sheets, and prepare daily inspection reports using a tablet.
  • Work outdoors and drive in all weather conditions
  • Work may include overtime
  • Other project-related work as required

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate/equivalent or higher degree
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interact with supervisors, contractors, residents and clients
  • Ability to read and understand construction design drawings/blueprints
  • Ability to operate field instrumentation including GPS units and computer tablets
  • Ability to prepare calculation sheet drawings to scale
  • Knowledge of working with stationing
  • Good physical condition; ability to climb steps, bend and conduct work activities under various. physical and environmental conditions
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to get to project sites
  • NICET or similar certification is a plus
  • GIS experience a plus
