Current Openings:

Construction Inspector

A full-time field technician/inspector with at least 2 years of experience.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine duties related to construction inspections, manhole inspections, data collection, and surveying (GPS); inspections could be related to water and sewage systems or highway and transportation projects. Take measurements, take photographs, conduct calculations, prepare calculation sheets, and prepare daily inspection reports using a tablet
  • Enter confined-space areas including manholes
  • Work outdoors and drive in all weather conditions
  • Work may include overtime
  • Conduct other project-related work

Required Education and Skills:

  • High school graduate or higher degree
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interact with supervisors, contractors, residents and clients
  • Ability to read and understand construction design drawings/blueprints
  • Ability to operate field instrumentation including GPS units and computer tablets
  • Ability to prepare calculation sheet drawings to scale
  • Knowledge of working with stationing
  • Good physical condition; ability to climb steps, bend and conduct work activities under various. physical and environmental conditions
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to get to project sites
  • NICET or similar certification a ‘plus’
  • GIS experience a ‘plus’
  • Confined-space Entry Training and Experience Preferred.

This assignment is based in our West View, Pa office and we operate on a hybrid office policy.

Senior Civil / Environmental Engineer

An engineer (PE preferred) with at least 15 years’ experience in the permitting and/or design of municipal infrastructure projects for water and transportation authorities or private developers.

This position will include:

  • Preparation of technical and cost proposals
  • Ability to prepare and submit permits to county, state and federal agencies
  • Ability to lead design efforts for:
    • Site development plans
    • Erosion and sedimentation plans
    • Earthwork and contouring
    • Sanitary conveyance systems
    • Stormwater conveyance systems
    • water treatment and delivery systems
    • Design for environmental compliance
  • Experience in managing projects, schedules, budgets and scope of work
  • Ability to be the point of contact with the client
  • Ability to lead a team project
  • Ability to perform QA/QC on deliverables
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere and mentor junior staff

Construction Administrator

Full Time position as a construction administrator for two large utility construction projects occurring locally in Pittsburgh, PA.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Attending meetings, preparing meeting minutes and distributing meeting minutes to attendees
  • Tracking Contractor’s Requests for Information (RFIs). Includes logging requests, distributing requests to parties responsible for answering requests, organizing responses through completion of construction processes
  • Obtaining and organizing Contractor’s submittals, tracking submittal comments, responses and approvals
  • Tracking various project requirements (permits, adherence to project plans, etc.)
  • Construction schedule monitoring and tracking

Applicants should be highly organized and familiar with the phases of a construction project from kick off to completion.  Prefer candidates with one to four years of experience with similar work.  Position is full time and includes benefits.

Entry Level Civil / Environmental Engineer

A Civil or Environmental Engineer with 1 – 7 years of experience. We offer flexibility and the opportunity to grow. Small companies can provide big opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work as a project engineer or project manager to execute projects form proposals through construction
  • Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for water and wastewater systems, municipal water, sewer, stormwater, highway, bridge, roadway, and airport projects
  • Prepare permit applications
  • Assist in performing hydrologic and hydraulic calculations for stormwater management planning
  • Prepare erosion and sediment control plans
  • Prepare design packages and construction bid documents
  • Conduct construction inspections

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and have a positive attitude
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to operate field instrumentation including water quality equipment and GPS
  • AutoCAD and/or MicroStation competency
  • Experience with site grading, site design, and associated permitting
  • Experience with piping systems design
  • HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, or other water resource-related programs experience a “plus”
  • GPS experience a “plus”
  • Conduct construction inspections
